Polaroid teasers recommend business has a huge film announcement prepared

Visitors to Polaroid.com are being greeted with a pop-up that teases a huge statement scheduled for September 13th. Though the company hasn’t exposed exactly what it has actually planned, the numerous teaser messages heavily hint that the statement will include movie.

Speculation abounds at the moment- including whatever from expectations that Polaroid will start producing its own chemical immediate movie once again, to a possible announcement that Impossible Task’s film will be offered under the Polaroid name- and not without cause. The pop-up scrolls through numerous statements, including one that checks out, “The most intricate set of man-made chain reaction ever. Coming September 13.”

Yet another states, “Analog Dreams,” and another, “SX-70. OS. 600. Spectra. 8×10. Join the dots on September 13.”

Previously this year, Polaroid revealed that Wiaczeslaw Smolokowski, The Impossible Project’s bulk investor, had actually acquired its owner PLR IP Holdings, offering the Smolokowski household both the Polaroid brand name and copyright. The Difficult Project has been working on bringing analog movie back from the dead for several years, and it’s difficult to imagine the timing of Polaroid’s teaser is a coincidence.

The Difficult Task currently provides a few different types of movie under the Difficult brand name through its website, including SX-70, Spectra, and 600. It is possible we might see this film being offered under the Polaroid name in the near future … or a whole new type of movie may be announced by Polaroid itself.

The cards do suggest that something larger than just movie is in the works, though, perhaps meaning big changes in how the two business do business.
